How long does it take to photograph a home?

Our base services include up to two hours of photography. This is usually enough time to capture the majority of a home under 3000 square feet, depending on a number of factors including how many images you want and the level of detail requested. When you book your job with us, we will ask you a number of questions to determine the length of time required to capture the images you are requesting.

How can we best prepare a property to be photographed?

There are several things you can do to help us capture the best images possible:

  • Clean each room you want captured as thoroughly as possible. Dust on surfaces and dirty windows show up very clearly in images. If the home is occupied, removing clutter and extra personal items is also good.

  • Plan to have no one else on site during our shoot. This includes homeowners, children, pets and other contractors.

  • Ensure all work and staging is complete prior to our arrival.

Can you edit out an, unfinished part of the room, ect?

All of our finished commercial images include complete retouching including cord and wall plug removal and any other imperfections in the room. Some are more difficult to remove than other, so please make sure to point out any problem areas you are worried about while we are on site, as it may affect how we decide to shoot.

Do we need to be onsite during the shoot?

Particularly for our first shoot together, it is best to have someone on your team onsite who has creative input on the final images. As we work together more, a brief before the shoot or quick walkthrough before we begin shooting is usually enough.

How long after the shoot will we receive our images?

Our standard turn around time is 10 business days. Faster turn around is available for a rush fee. If you require rush turnaround, please let us know right away so we can confirm that we can accommodate your deadline.

Will you do any staging?

The more staging that can be done in advance of our arrival, the better. We are also happy to shoot empty homes for builders before possession. Please be aware that the amount of staging that takes place while we are on site affect how many photos we can product in the allowed time.

At the same time, we will always do whatever we can to make sure your images are perfect. We will adjust rugs, fix towels and remove anything from a room that is distracting. Sometimes staging and decor that looks fantastic in person does not translate well to 2D image, so we will always adjust the room accordingly along with your input.

What is the best time of day to schedule my shoot?

If you have large, dramatic windows, twilight will create the most dramatic images. If you prefer a daytime shoot, we will ask you some questions about the direction of windows in the home. Because we shoot with natural light, time of day will determine the look and feel of your images.
